One of the most common heart rhythm disorders is atrial fibrillation also known as Afib. This irregularity occurs when the topmost chambers of the heart contracts fast and in an irregular manner. People may or may not see signs of this condition but just for reference and for additional knowledge, chest pains, palpitations and fainting are the common symptoms.

Pre-existing conditions such as hypertension is one of the major causes that your heart bulge and eventually pops. Afib on the other hand is not that serious compared to the first but the abnormal enlargement of the upper chambers of your heart should be taken seriously too because this might lead to complications later on.

High blood pressure is more common to old people but it doesn’t mean that younger individuals are safe. There are different ways on how you can prevent afib. The first thing you should do is to maintain a normal blood pressure. You can have control of this by changing your lifestyle and watching the foods you eat. The most effective way to keep your blood pressure at a normal level is by making significant dietary changes.

Too much salt can make your blood pressure high. You can take at least a teaspoon of sodium in a day and going beyond this is not good for your body. In addition to this, you should eat more nutritious foods like lean protein and dairy products together with fruits and vegetables.

Vices such as drinking and smoking should be done moderately or better yet to avoid completely. Binging on tobacco products and alcoholic drinks can increase your blood pressure overtime which in turn can result to afib and other deadly forms of heart diseases. Keep these temptations out of your life as much as you can if you want to keep your heart healthy.

Working out is also one of the most effective ways to control your blood pressure. You can do this on your own by jogging around your neighbourhood or by doing your own workout routine at home. It’s important to watch your weight too and lose as much fats as you can. If you can keep a trimmed and healthy body, you will most likely enjoy a life without atrial fibrillation.
